Welcome to Environmental Engineering Science
at Washington University in St. Louis
The Environmental Engineering Science Program at Washington
University is an integrated, multidisciplinary program that provides a scientific
education for individuals interested in focusing on the improvement and management
of the quality of the environment.
The mission of the Program is to educate future generation of Engineers and Scientists to
tackle and solve the complex environmental issues we
face today and in the future.
The mission is accomplished by:

with application in an advanced focal area and breadth in other disciplinary

Courses and research encompass areas such as Air
Quality and Pollution Control, Aerosol Science and Engineering, Biological Treatment
Processes, Contaminant Transport, Drinking Water Treatment, Environmentally Benign
Processing, Nanotechnology, Sustainable Technology, Water Quality and Pollution
Control, Environmental Law and Policy.
A Master of Science and Doctoral Degree in Environmental Engineering
Science is awarded on completion of a course of study and research work. A joint
degree Program with the College of Law allows interested students to obtain both a J.D.
and M.S. in Environmental Engineering Science. A minor is offered to
Undergraduate Students
interested in Environmental Engineering, and can be selected by any Engineering or Science
student.
